As every year on the second Sunday in March from afar 1573, the medieval square in front of the castle is the Sagra del Polentone.
The event was founded by ancient propitiatory ceremonies linked to the arrival in the country of magnin that tapering off pots, and according to a legend it binds to an act of generosity by the Marquis Del Carretto, that it fed with polenta, omelette with onions and sausage a group of Boilermakers starving, which country bought the huge copper pot still is the gigantic baked polenta, that the public is served with sausage and onion frittata. In the alleys of the old town are recreated with philological care gli antichi mestieri, performed by elders of the monastery and of the neighbouring countries, with vintage gear.
The event starts in the morning through the streets of the village to discover the typical products of the Langhe and the medieval castle. At lunchtime we serve polenta with spezzatino and then it starts to admire the arts and crafts for the ancient districts of the monastery, the historical Parade with over 100 listed, led by the monks of the Abbey and of the marquises del Carretto. A mid-afternoon CUP of POLENTONISSIMO!!
